The H08 case is an insightful design, hitting an ‘on trend’ sweet spot with its 39mm diameter and commendable 11mm thickness. Its cushion shape bears a resemblance to the original Dressage design lines, though the combination of modern materials and expert finishing place it firmly in the present-day territory. That’s why I suspect that the designers made the H08’s case a bit wider simply to compensate for the increase in thickness. That way, everything is still in proportion. To be honest, the 41mm case wears quite large on my 17cm (6.7″) wrist. Designed by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of Hermès Horloger, the rose gold casemiddle doesn't contrast so much as it complements the black ceramic bezel and crown and black DLC-treated titanium caseback (more like body-frame).
